Professional Development
As a lifelong learner, I have dedicated myself to professional learning and development. I have attended Category 1 and 2 workshops organized by the IB at my school here in Suzhou as well as in other schools around China (Making the PYP Happen and Action). I have travelled to attend the Learning2.014 conference held at NIST in Bangkok, where I engaged with visual literacy, visual note-taking, and using iPads for differentiation. Through my school I have been involved in professional learning opportunities held at IB schools at our network. I have also pursued further courses online and in-person through my university to develop my understanding special education and for developing play-based Kindergarten programs.

As a connected educator, I have also spent time trying to share my knowledge and passions with those around me. I have prepared and delivered workshops on visual note-taking for faculty and different grade levels. I have run workshops focused on developing effective digital portfolios. At regular TechBytes skill-share sessions, I shared different ideas for digital formative assessments and incorporating Green Screen into classrooms. I have also acted as a member of the mathematics curriculum development team, pulling together documents from around the world to design the SSIS Mathematics vertical articulation. I have worked hard to cultivate my Professional Learning Network and try to stay engaged with educators from around the world.
